What is all this code for?

I want to use the OM code, and I'm compiling your OM on a window system.

Since you state in the documentation that the window test can be wrong,
I'd like to know if this code is for the developer to test after compilation,
and what is its purpose? There are things for testing as well in the build instruction, so what is this test for?

Additionally, what is this and where do I enter and run this code?
Where can I find out how to use this code?
