General conference info/news on the leaderboard

Usually when a leaderboard is run a one of the venue main screens it might happen that content is rotated with something else, e.g. general conference info such as schedule and room changes.
If the conference can provide us a json endpoint, we could display this info on the leaderboard screen footer as news tickers on CNN for example, this would allow us to:

• never share screen with others
• provide a service to the conference

It could also be done via Twitter, we could allow some senders to send messages to the _hasbus account and these messages will be displayed in the footer.

My main concern with this is that it introduces a whole new SLA to the app.
