Translate quotes?

Should we show the original quote in addition to the translation? Should quotes be translated at all?

My experiments with Claude suggested it was pretty easy to let the LLM choose, based on the particular case. How close the locales being translated between are, how important/dense wording in the original is, all in context of the original quote and cost in space and to reader comprehensibility: it does as good a job with these trade-offs as a human translator. The same goes for e.g. localizing currency amounts, paper/book titles, etc. Actually mentioning "localization" in the prompt can make a big difference to how good the choices are.
