Can't find multiplayer option

The website says this game is multiplayer, but I can't find a multiplayer option anywhere. Can it be played multiplayer? If so, is there any documentation on how to start it, and can it be made more clear?

If I recall, the multiplayer support wasn't completely finished (and as far as I know isn't integrated into the main game), but the level editor supports it. Open the level editor and check out the files in data/levels/multiplayer.

OK, found it, though it wasn't clear how to play it multiplayer and it had glitches. So I think the website should be updated to reflect the fact that multiplayer isn't really ready.
