Simple Name Retrieve for Unity

I just want to take the name , just simple script that retrieves the name without any user just an automatic one

What do you mean by 'without a user'? All the calls for grabbing any associated username require some kind of user or ID.

i mean the game starts and the username will be retrieved automatically cause most of the examples in this its kinda manual and there is not any example of real scenario when the game takes the username and then proceed on anything else , i meant without typing anything on the menus

If you're using the EGS Launcher (Epic game store Launcher), you can have fetch some username information using EOSManager.GetCommandLineArgsFromEpicLauncher. However, you will still need to login in using one of the auth login methods in the EOSManager, similar to how it's done in the UILoginMenu, if you want to get the user's display name.

ok , how I can test it though ? also I am getting confused cause i gfet those , i need to add a domain to get the name ? this will not work for editor ? only for build and launched from th

e epic launcher ?

I don't know what you mean by a 'domain' in this context.

If you're using the samples, you should be able to use the drop down to select 'AccountPortal' to login in, then every other time you should be able to use persistent auth to login. You can also use the DevAuth tool to login in, but doing that means that you'll need to always have the DevAuth tool running while doing your work in the editor.

If you're not using the samples:
From the editor, you will need to either use the AccountPortal LoginType, or the DevAuth login type to login to login the first time, then persistent auth.

In general the flow of login on Windows, as mostly shown in the UILoginMenu sample code, is to do the following:

• Attempt to do a persistent auth login
• If the persistent auth login doesn't work, try to do an Account Portal login / use the tokens from EGS
• If that doesn't work, error out.

For your case, it sounds like you would need to do the following, assuming you're also planning on launching the tile on the Epic Game Store:

• Attempt to do a persistent Auth login
• if the persistent auth login fails, try to grab the commandline values from EOSManager.GetCommandLineArgsFromEpicLauncher
• if that fails, try to do an Account portal login
• if that fails, error out.

After doing that login, you should be able to grab the username, similar to how it does it
