Announcement: Miti Calendar App Expanding to Multiple Platforms + Move to Monorepo 🚀

Hello everyone!

We are excited to announce Miti, our open-source calendar app, is expanding its support to several new platforms! 🎉 As we move forward, we are making some key changes to the project structure, including transitioning to a monorepo to handle all the various extensions and versions efficiently.

🌍 Platform Expansion

We believe that calendars should be accessible no matter where you are or what device you’re using. That’s why Miti will soon be available on:

•	Mobile App: We’re building a mobile version using Expo with the expo-calendars API. No need for complicated authentication – the app will directly access your device’s calendar.
•	Web App: Built with Vite to leverage its amazing PWA features (like offline access and native app-like experience) – because who doesn’t love fast, offline-capable web apps?
•	Chrome Extension: Using Plasmo for seamless integration right in your browser.
•	Raycast Extension: MacOS productivity boost coming with Raycast support!
•	Gnome Extension: For the Linux users out there – we’ve got you covered with a Gnome extension.
•	Alfred and other similar platform extensions coming soon.

💡 Tech Stack

Here’s a breakdown of our tech choices for this cross-platform calendar app:

•	Expo (Mobile App) using expo-calendars API (direct calendar access, no external auth needed).  We want to support android and ios widgets as well as persistent notifications.
•	Vite (Web App) for fast builds, PWA functionality, and offline access. (However we will use backend for authenticating with google calendar, since browsers do not have a way to access device calendar)
•	Plasmo (Chrome Extension).
•	Raycast (MacOS).
•	Hono (Backend) – small, fast, and minimalistic. 
•	Oslo (Authentication).
•	D1 (Database) – Since we are planning to deploy our backend to cloudflare workers.

📦 Moving to a Monorepo

As Miti grows to support these multiple platforms, we’ll be moving everything into a monorepo. This will streamline the development process and make it easier for contributors to jump in across different platforms. The monorepo will house the mobile app, web app, Chrome extension, Raycast extension, backend, and more under a unified structure.

We would love your support as we expand Miti! There are many ways you can contribute:

1.	Development Contributions: Whether it’s improving the mobile app, web app, or creating new extensions, we welcome any and all development help. Open a PR or discuss on our Issues board if you’re interested!
2.	Sponsorship: If you’d like to sponsor the project, we’d greatly appreciate your financial contributions. Donations will go toward covering hosting fees and platform publishing costs.
3.	Help Publishing to App Stores: We need to publish our mobile apps to Play Store and App Store, [veez](https://veez.io) has committed to publishing our app to play store. If you'd like to help publish miti on App Store please let us know.
4.	One-Time Donations: You can also provide a one-time donation to help cover hosting and platform fees as we scale. We would also like to deliver some merch (stickers, tshirts, etc.) to our contributors at some point in the future if financially viable.
