Communication around archived packages in CRAN.

Some people wish authors/maintainers of packages that depend on other packages that are going to be archived to receive an email before their package is archived. See this comment and the thread.

This notification would inform them about the impending archival of their package, and allows the authors/maintainers to take appropriate actions to address the disruption caused by the archival. They can consider updating their package's dependencies or finding alternative solutions to ensure their package remains functional and on CRAN.
Otherwise they need to coordinate with the other maintainers and at the same time prepare for the worst. This can be quite difficult to do in two weeks depending on the dependency, its usage in their package and other commitments outside CRAN.
