Solution

This feature exists in the HttpMetaMaskDataAccess
It just needs to be documented how to instantiate your RequestNetwork object with it.

Eliminating the Request Node is not possible because the HttpMetaMaskDataAccess still uses the Request Node to persist to IPFS.
