Step 2 - View the environment variables in the config map

The purpose to show the config-map is to see how it can be viewed and edited from the Kyma console.

What is a Kubernetes ConfigMap?

A ConfigMap is an API object used to store non-confidential data in key-value pairs. Pods can consume ConfigMaps as environment variables, command-line arguments, or as configuration files in a volume.

  1. In the Kyma console, go to Configuration > Config Maps.

  2. Click on Edit next to the app-config config map to view its configuration details.

  3. You’ll notice the environment variables within the data object.
