Search with intersects={'type': 'GeometryCollection', [...] returns 400

From stac api validator:

- GET Search with intersects={'type': 'GeometryCollection', 'geometries': [{'type': 'Point', 'coordinates': [100.0, 0.0]}, {'type': 'LineString', 'coordinates': [[101.0, 0.0], [102.0, 1.0]]}]} returned status code 500
- POST Search with intersects:{'type': 'GeometryCollection', 'geometries': [{'type': 'Point', 'coordinates': [100.0, 0.0]}, {'type': 'LineString', 'coordinates': [[101.0, 0.0], [102.0, 1.0]]}]} returned status code 500

This is probably not the biggest problem for our users. I think it is a relatively uncommon use case.
