Describe the bug
On opening SasView, the main window will restrict itself to a specific width, and the user will only be able to change the height of the window. Putting the window into fullscreen still works.

To Reproduce
Steps to reproduce the behavior:

  1. Open SasView
  2. Attempt to resize the window.

Interestingly, this issue goes away if you bring the Data Explorer out of the main window into its own window, and then bring it back into the main window.

Expected behavior
The window should resize as normal.

Screenshots
This is the width SasView will stick to. As you can see, it is unusable in this state.

SasView version (please complete the following information):

  • Version: 6.0.0

Operating system (please complete the following information):

  • OS: Linux (running under Flatpak). Tested on both Ubuntu 24.04, and Fedora 41

Additional context
I'm on leave at the moment but will investigate once I return on Monday.

I'm now able to reproduce this bug outside of the Flatpak as well so it seems to be a general Linux problem.

I think I saw this issue occasionally. Maximizing the window and un-maximizing usually did the trick.

This seems to be a Wayland specific issue as I am not able to reproduce it on X11.
