When clicking the > Tools > Orientation Viewer, a window should appear to let you play around with a shape and understand how angles are defined.
That window doesn't always pop up (for example, on OSX 10.13 using the current master build).
When it does show up, the bottom part of the window shows what appears to be a set of controls. The problem is that we can't interact with those controls and it's not clear what it's trying to tell us.
In addition, I'm not convinced that this feature is useful unless we can pick the oriented model to display.

The set of controls mostly work on windows (and of course it appears). While there are many improvements that could be made to the widget, users have commented that even this basic functionality is very useful to them understanding the angles and jitter definitions.
We need to identify platforms on which it doesn't work correctly and try to work out why so it can be fixed on those platforms. Further enhancement to the widget should be a different ticket.
