Trakt new limits introduced for free users on January 21 2025

Trakt.tv have introduced limits to the number of items on the watchlist, personal list, and collection for free users.
One more sting to force users to become VIP (which is unlimited) :-b

For Free users this is set to 100 items for each of the above categories !!!

What does this means for DuckieTV users?

If you setup DuckieTV with your Trakt.tv account authority, you can push your Dtv episode downloaded status to your Trakt.tv collection (every time your mark a Dtv episode as downloaded it is loaded on your Trakt.tv account collection list).
And once you have collected more that 100 episodes, trakt.tv API will stop adding the next downloaded episode to your collection.
This means that unless you become a VIP member, you will not be able to rely on Trakt.tv to be used as an import for your Dtv backup Restore.
You will get your series imported, but your downloaded status for the episodes (and likely the watched/not watched status) will not be set for episodes after the first 100.

So if you are not planning to become a Trakt.tv VIP user, then turn on Dtv Monthly/Weekly/Daily Backup if you want to have a backup in case the Dtv database gets lost/corrupted/whatever.

Note this does not affect the Dtv add a series search page, or Dtv's ability to fetch daily updates from trakt.tv API for new episodes or updates to episodes, as these functions do not rely on your Trakt.tv account.

If you have previously set up Dtv with a Trakt.tv FREE account authority, and you do not want to upgrade to a VIP membership, then you might as well turn off the Dtv Trakt.tv sync option, to improve your Dtv performance.

• go to Dtv>Settings>Trakt.tv>Trakt.TV Watched Sync and disable,

• and Dtv>Settings>Trakt.tv>Trakt.TV Sync and Clear Credentials

This will stop Dtv trying to use your Trakt.tv account and generating errors in the Dtv logs every time you change the status of your episodes (mark downloaded, mark watched).
