IMHO, I'm a bit confused from that "play"-symbol to start the working time only, and have to wait for the configured break to start that what I want to start instantly, too.

Possibly another symbol for the timer start of the configured working time could help here

while the "►"-symbol would start the selected exercise, immediately?

Maybe there could be a "start" button next to the work duration and one next to the break duration? 🤷‍♂

Like this?

[picture only, not modified program code].

Whatever is intuitional. I would be happy with both of the current proposals.

Additional - but this could be worth another feature-request - it would be cool to have a tile (https://developer.android.com/reference/android/service/quicksettings/Tile) to start that "break"-activity instantly.
This could provide starting the break with less clicks for users, in such rush hour times 8-)
What do you think?

By the way. If you try to start a break, while your device is in "do not disturb"-mode, you can't start it, because the necessary notification is suppressed. At least, because of this I personally would really appreciate a seperate start activity for the break ✌️

This is actually a real concern which might elevante this issue from an enhancement to a bug.. Thanks for reporting.

I think a Quicksettings Tile is not needed in this case. I think it would be better to add a app shortcut... So just longpressing the launcher Icon could be used to start the last chosen exercise set.

It's a great suggestion though and complements the app very well. I will open a new issue for that.
