While I understand, that the GPS / location tracking is not "wanted" for data privacy friendly apps, I believe for getting the "local weather" there could be at least to option as a user to enable this.

As the app is open source, everybody can look when and for what the location is used.

@th23x my fork RadarWeather has the GPS feature for the widget. Maybe you wanna try
