Bug: Performance Issues since 1.28 #145

If SMT is left open for a few hours the application begins to lag behind. Below are some of the symptoms I've noticed.

  • When entering a new system, the map takes 3-5 secs longer to update showing where the followed character is currently located
  • When entering a new region, the map takes 5-7 secs longer to update showing which region the followed character is in
  • The system circle animation indicating where the character is located seems to be a slower rotation
  • When attempting to browse regions via the regions tab, SMT takes 3-5 seconds to recognize that the Regions tab was clicked
  • Once on the regions tab, and double clicking on the region to load, takes 3-5 seconds to load
  • The side menu options where "Anoms, Characters, and Jump Bridges" are located, seem to take 5-7 seconds to load when an option is clicked

I currently have the ZKB Feed, Intel, Gamelog and Fleet windows unpinned so I have a better map view.

My PC Specs are as follows:

  • i9-10900K
  • 32gb of 3666mhz RAM
  • Samsung NVME 980 Pro 1tb

I'm fairly certain my PC is not the issue, as other applications are working without issue and I'm not getting any of the lagging within Eve either.

I have noticed similar behavior with lag increasing over time. Restarting SMT resets performance to normal.

I often run SMT for more than 8 hours and have not found any similar performance issues.
