Cant open .desktop application files. (works fine on stock launcher)

Hi i hope all is well,

i am reporting this issue i am having where i cant open regular desktop files from the launcher but i can from the stock launcher or from dolphin for example, though after doing that and swapping back to mmck, i can launch.

the error given to me by my system when trying to launch with mmck before swapping the launcher around and back was.

execvp: permission denied.

im not sure what causes this
