USR W610 Setup Guide

Preparing the USR

  1. Plug in the USR W610 into power wait 10-15 secs to boot
  2. Using a laptop or desktop with wifi access search for and connect to the device’s wifi name. Normally USR-XXXX
  3. Open a browser and navigate to 10.10.100.254 (normally printed on the back of the device)
  4. Enter Admin / Admin for the username and Password
  5. Click english top right to change to english
  6. Under STA Interface settings click search and select wifi network (full screen recommended)
  7. Enter wifi password in the Pass Phase box and hit apply
  8. Under STA Interface settings - AP+STA Settings change to On and click apply
  9. Under Quick Connect - Change Wifi Mode to STA - make sure you correct wifi network is set and click apply
  10. Under Device Management - Click Restart

Using your routers device list or local ip scanner, find the ip address of the USR now on your local wifi network.

  1. Type in your USR’s IP address while connected to your normal wifi network
  2. When prompted enter Admin/Admin as the username and password
  3. Under Mode Selection, change to STA Moda and under Data transfer Mode change to Modbus TCP ⇔ Modbus RTU
  4. Under AP Interface Setting - change Security Mode from Disable to WOA2-PSK and set a Pass Phase in the box, this will secure the wifi for the device but allow you future direct access for future troubleshooting
  5. Under Application Settings Match These settings (Click Apply after each section and then click Application Settings for each row, no need to reboot until you've completed them all):

Change Socket B’s server IP to the IP Address of the USR Unit and port to 502 click apply for each selection of the settings.

You can now unplug and install the USR next to your inverter

Connecting to your inverter H1 or AC1

Connect a wire to pin 3 and 4 of your com port on your inverter and make sure pin 4 A goes to connection A on the USR RS485 port and 3 goes to port B on the USR

Connecting to your inverter H3 or AC3

Connect a wire to pin 1 and 2 of your com port on your inverter and make sure pin 1 A goes to connection A on the USR RS485 port and 2 goes to port B on the USR

Troubleshooting USR

  • Use an IP scanner to locate your USR on the network
  • Download annd install modpoll to confirm your device and slave is working by running c:\path-to-modpoll\modpoll.exe -m tcp -p 502 -a 247 -t 3 -0 -1 -c 16 -r 11000 192.x.x.x.x

Setting up to use Ethernet (Thanks canton7!)

  • Plug in the USR W610 into power without an ethernet cable attached wait 10-15 secs to boot

  • Using a laptop or desktop with wifi access search for and connect to the device’s wifi name. Normally USR-XXXX

  • Open a browser and navigate to 10.10.100.254 (normally printed on the back of the device)

  • Enter Admin / Admin for the username and Password

  • Click english top right to change to english

  • Under Ethernet Setting - Set the Ethernet work mode to WAN port, Apply

  • Under Mode Selection - Set AP Mode, Data Transfer Mode to Modbus TCP<=>Modbus RTU, Apply

  • Under STA Interface Setting - Set AP+STA to Off, Apply

  • Under Device Management - Click Restart, and connect an ethernet cable

  • Using your router's device list or local ip scanner, find the ip address of the USR now on your local network.

  • Type in your USR’s IP address while connected to your normal network

  • When prompted enter Admin/Admin as the username and password

  • Under AP Interface Setting - change Security Mode from Disable to WPA2-PSK and set a Pass Phase in the box, this will secure the wifi for the device but allow you future direct access for future troubleshooting

  • Under Application Settings Match These settings (Click Apply after each section and then click Application Settings for each, no need to reboot until you've completed them all)
