wriiiting?

You know what I need to do?

Write.

Just. Write, without thinking over everything, overthinking everything. Just let it out, no hesitation, living in the moment. Write stuff as it comes to me without planning everything beforehand in my mind until it all falls out before I can get it down, and write it without constantly looking back or thinking if it flows with what I just wrote.

And not think too far into the future either, just take each thought as it comes. Live in the moment. Think of a sentence, and then block off the mind; execute the sentence, and then continue.

Tbh, this would probably be a lot easier if I were just handwriting with pen and paper.

Looking at the keyboard only and not the screen does help, tbh.

But wow, these pieces have become ever more informal, so much so that they almost read like diary entries or something. Wack.

What else do I have to say? We’re just improvising here, seeing how long we can go on for.

See, I don’t have writer’s block, I don’t think – I just have crippling immediate perfectionism.

Maybe only in writing, or maybe it’s just less pronounced in graphic design and software development.

But man, I don’t write – or rather I write far too slowly – because I always strive to get it perfect first try. Which is impossible, since I will always find tweaks to make later, but I still do it anyway.

It really slows me down.

I’ll spend a couple minutes tweaking and tuning a paragraph, and then half an hour will pass and I look back to find I’ve only ended up with a couple sentences.

Get the ideas down, and then refine.

Resist he urge to go back and fix things, make changes, refer to what you’ve already written.

Context is everything, but the more you write, the more context there is, so the harder it becomes to write more.

So ignore the context.

Another thing is, stop flitting between things. Don’t get it perfect, but don’t leave it incomplete either. Finish what you were going to write, get all your thoughts down, before changing over to something else. Ofherwise maintaining that stack is gonna get pretty difficult. And sure, I’m somewhat adept at it, but I often end up missing stuff because of it.

I think? It’s hard to say, because you don’t really know what you’ve forgotten, since, well, you’ve forgotten it.

This is what I mean tho – I can have superfast typing speed, but honestly, the limiting factor is always my mind.

It turns fast, sure, it churns out ideas rapidly, yeah, and it formulates thoughts one after the other – but keeping that momentum going, and compiling those thoughts into coherent sentences, paragraphs and points consistently – less easy.

Sometimes, quantity is more important than quality.

Can we rest now?

Now I’m re-reading this, and it wasn’t even that long. Feel like I should write more.
