Characters and character states change when switching interactive key from sciname to common name view

When in an interactive key (...portal/ident/key.php) and you switch the display of taxa from sciname to common name, or common name to sciname the characters and character states available on the left of the screen changes without any other change or selection. The list of characters and character states would be expected to remain the same.
