Lightning rods can oxidize just like copper building blocks and can be waxed/unwaxed and players can use patina on them.
When struck by lightning, they can naturally deoxidize themselves, as in vanilla minecraft mechanic
Does this solve a particular problem?
Vanilla Lightning Rods aren't blending with copper roofs, making it look ugly. Also, the only copper block that cannot be used patina on it is the lighnting rod.
