The user should see this page after sign up, or if she has 0 donations. Possible content:

  • project explanation / how-to
  • list of things to-do: your first donation, your first project, your first invite, your first share (keep track of that things?), find friends

The list of things to-do can be a counter in the header.

Don't forget:

  • locales for invite redeem page, welcome message

👍

Maybe I would turn the «Track your first donation» into a cta more prominent.

Moreover, I like the idea @ferblape exposed a few days ago about achievements unlocked with those donations, in this case global achievements as kind of a «community». Maybe we can follow that path, this way a user can see that the donation matters.

What achievements system would make sense? Thinking about it, and the general objective in this first phase of people tracking as many donations as possible, some ideas:

  • Making donations to projects in each category. You earn a badge if you have donations for 2 projects for each category (or just follow them? -when we have that...- making so many donations will not be easy...)

Also, we started drafting this: https://github.com/TrackDons/trackdons/wiki/Karma-points - which certainly is in the same lines.

I guess the global achievements could be part of the TrackDons tour.

The page I think is valid for the purpose of start interacting with the site.

Once we have setup the Ahoy stats we should consider what actions we could convert into Karma points. Totally agreed.
