I really like the data availability dashboard! I wonder if under the "Number of Countries by Disaggregation Variable in a Given Year" section, there could also be the option to select a range of years to make it less overwhelming or get a time-specific snapshot. Perhaps this could be linked with the slider in the top right? But then it would need a range selection and not a single year selection, I imagine.
Also, if you click on a cell, it would be helpful to have the list of countries for which the data is available corresponding to that cell (year, indicator and disaggregation) without having to search for it on the map. Or perhaps, the map and the cells could be linked so that when you select a cell, the map updates accordingly? It seems like this is already partially the case! For example, let's say I want to know for Education, governance: Government expenditure on education in PPP. Under total, I click 1993, 2009, etc. and the map updates, but if I select one of the disaggregation cells for any year, the map does not update.
This is wishful thinking, but it would be amazing if we could animate the map for the indicator selected to show how data availability has changed over time. Apologies if this is there and I missed it!
