  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): NixOS

  • Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
  • GPU: VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Ellesmere [Radeon RX 470/480/570/570X/580/580X/590] (rev e7)

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Steam checks for runtime updates, then logs in (spinner), then crashes before (or right when) the main window is supposed to open.

GDB says this about the segmentation fault:

Thread 45 "IPC:CSteamEngin" received signal SIGSEGV, Segmentation fault.
