[QAM] - Certain Bluetooth device class do not appear in the "Quick-Access Menu" when paired / bonded. #11489

Your system information

  • Steam client version (build number or date): 1731433018 (Stable) / 1731716808 (Beta)
  • Distribution (e.g. Ubuntu): SteamOS 3.6.20 / 3.7.0 (Deck) and Manjaro w/ Gnome 46 (Desktop)
  • Opted into Steam client beta?: Yes. Issue is present on both Stable and Beta
  • Have you checked for system updates?: Yes
  • Steam Logs: steam-logs.tar.gz
  • GPU: AMD Van Gogh RDNA 2.0 (Steam Deck) and RX 7800XT (Desktop)

Please describe your issue in as much detail as possible:

Bluetooth devices which requires Show all devices to be enabled (e.g. Computer or Phone) do not appear in the Quick-Access Menu at any point. Active devices are therefore not visible to the user and previously connected device cannot be re-paired.

Steps for reproducing this issue:

  1. Navigate to Steam > Settings > Bluetooth.
  2. Toggle Show all devices on.
  3. Pair a device that requires Show all devices to be enable to be seen under Available To Paire (e.g Computer, Phone).
  4. Press ... to open the Quick-Access Menu.
  5. Scroll down to the Bluetooth section of the Quick Settings tab.

Affected Platforms

  • LCD / Jupiter: Yes
  • OLED / Galileo: Yes
  • Desktop Deck-like session (gamescope -e -- steam -gamepadui -steamdeck): N/A
  • Desktop: N/A

Note: Bluetooth devices are not managed by Steam in a Desktop environment and therefore cannot be tested.

Actual result

  • After pairing a Bluetooth device which requires Show all devices the device and its connection is never shown in the Quick-Access Menu.

Expected result

  • All paired Bluetooth device and connection should always be shown in the Quick-Access Menu.
