At the moment PlantBioPhysics address the same goals as Ecophys. Ecophys will grow beyond this but it begs the question whether we should rewrite these models using PlantBioPhysics or even entirely rely on that package for photosynthesis and energy balance modelling (new code would have to be added to cover C4 photosynthesis).
