How can I filter the shipping costs by product groups or by sale items. If I have a special offer on specific items, including shipping discounts. ie: different shipping options for different products...

I tried to add a weight to the shipping attributes, like 2 or 20, and then filter a shipping method by a range like 1-100 and ALL other products are at 0 shipping weight, but all products seem to have the shipping rate as if they were the 0 weight items...
