Using different Adapter modes in Jasper subreports

Hello, this is basically a question. Any comments from your experience is much appreciated.

I have a "master" report and a "sub-report". In the "master" report I am using a "hits" mode adapter and in the "sub-report" I am using a "aggregate" mode adapter. The "com.jaspersoft.studio.data.defaultdataadapter" property is correctly set in both reports. But still I have not been able to get this to work either in Jasper Studio or on the Jasper Server. Have you ever tried to implement something similar?
