I have noticed that this lesson has not yet been translated in the overview and therefore looks unfinished.

Wow, you're incredibly fast! Thank you so much.

What about the excerpt text? Can we change that as well, or would it be better to wait for the Sensei update?

Hi @BenjaminZekavica or anyone else, would you have time and be interested in reviewing the video?
Do you know someone who could record the voiceover once the text is approved?

@devmuhib009 @rfluethi I can review it today :)

Do you know someone who could record the voiceover once the text is approved?
Unfortunately no, but maybe @devmuhib009 or somebody from the WordPress.tv have a experice about that?

Hello @BenjaminZekavica thank you for the intention for today's review. I would suggest you give it a few more days though. Because there are various suggestions for changes coming in and I would like to ask the local Slack groups for input. So you might have to do the work twice.

Suggestion for improvement: 'Chapter 02 Learning Outcomes'

The slide feels overwhelming because there is a lot of text displayed while also a lot of spoken content is presented at the same time. Would it be possible to show the learning objectives one by one, each appearing in sync with the corresponding spoken sentence?

Suggestion for improvement: 'Chapter 09 Outro'

On the final slide, there should be a period between “Learn” and “WordPress.org” (Learn.WordPress.org) to accurately reflect the URL. In the spoken text, however, the Training Team should be mentioned.

English:
We from the WordPress Training Team wish you every success and look forward to supporting you on your journey.

Deutsch:
Wir vom Schulungs-Team von WordPress wünschen dir viel Erfolg und freuen uns darauf, dich auf deinem Weg zu begleiten.

Great work @rfluethi

I am very impressed with how you have transformed the English version into German.

Two observations:

  1. The continuous scrolling in some scenes causes visual strain, which can lead to discomfort or difficulty focusing on the content. I suggest significantly slowing down the scroll speed, or in some cases, you might consider using a static screenshot instead.
    Examples:
    00:37 - 00:42
    1:19 - 1:26
    2:00 - 2:47
    3:03 - 3:09
    3:17 - 3:48
    4:20 - 4:28

  2. 0:32, 0:37, and 0:59 - The transition to the following scenes should be slowed down and a pause inserted.

The video was created using a synthetic voice. Once the script is approved, a person should record it with a bit more emotion.

I was pleasantly surprised by the synthetic voice.

Vielen dank!

Hey Rico

Thank you for all the hard work you have put into this project so far.

Review of Video Version 02-03:

  • The music at the beginning, along with the target and arrow graphic, feels somewhat out of place.
  • While I understand the sound effects are meant to enhance the content, some feel misaligned with the tone of the training video and can be a bit distracting.
  • 00:23 - 00:52 I think this can be sped up as folks usually want to get to the content ASAP.
  • I love the borders you added around the content and screen recordings
  • You have used effective transitions.

Hi Wes,
Thanks so much for your feedback! I’ll work on implementing your suggestions as soon as I can find some time.

Hey @rfluethi

Once we upload the video and create and publish the lesson, we can close this Issue. I created the lesson for you so long: https://learn.wordpress.org/wp-admin/post.php?post=265255&action=edit

Do you have the ability to upload a video to WordPress.tv and edit the lesson?

At this stage, the lesson will be a standalone German lesson, not part of a learning pathway. Is this correct, @kaitohm

Hi @westnz ,

Thanks for your message. Unfortunately, I don't have access to the lesson you created.

I've uploaded the video to WordPress.tv and informed the @tt-admins on Slack.

I'm still unsure about the next steps. Should I open an issue for the next lessons in the learning path, just like with this lesson? And will the German learning path be assembled once all the lessons are translated?

Thank you for your help!

Hey Rico

I have published the video on WordPress.tv and YouTube.
WordPress.tv: https://wordpress.tv/2024/10/14/einfuhrung-in-wordpress/
YouTube: https://youtu.be/acs7lfnFdg4

Then, I added the YouTube video, thumbnail, and transcript to the lesson and published it on Learn.
Lesson: https://learn.wordpress.org/lesson/einfuhrung-in-wordpress/

Great work all-round

Should I open an issue for the next lessons in the learning path, just like with this lesson? And will the German learning path be assembled once all the lessons are translated?

Yes, that's correct 👍

Vielen dank

Great work @BenjaminZekavica! ⭐

The sound quality is pleasing!

Two notes:

  • 00:40 - 42 The voice fades away. Any chance we can make sure the sentence is completed before transitioning?
  • 00:43 - 0:48 Can we tighten this section up a bit by removing the pauses and/or possibly re-recording that sentence?

@BenjaminZekavica
Member

@westnz Thank you so much.

  • 00:40 - 42 Here is a normal break - I think its fine. But yes it a hard end of the voice. @rfluethi Is it possible to fade out at 0:41-42?
  • 00:43 - 0:48 Hmm yes its a long break @rfluethi Is it possible to shorten this break?

@devmuhib009 Do you can reopen this issue, please? :)

Introduction-to-WordPress-DE-02-06.mp4

Key documents at a glance:

Video: Different versions of the video.
Documents: Translation and production documents.
Subtitles: Subtitle files in various formats.

Thank you, @westnz and @BenjaminZekavica, for your feedback! I hope I understood you correctly.
I’ve made the following changes—does this align with what you had in mind? If not, please let me know so I can adjust accordingly.

0:00:40;23 - 0:00:42;20
Audio normalized and amplified. The volume was slightly reduced at the end of the sentence to improve the clarity of the closing.

0:00:42;20 - 0:00:43;07
Cut shifted by 17 frames to create a smoother transition to the next scene.
- Scene "Define WordPress" shortened by 17 frames.
- Scene "Learning Outcomes" extended by 17 frames.

0:00:44;19 - 0:00:45;07
Start of the animation "Define WordPress" moved 18 frames earlier to better align with the narration.

General Update:
The shotlist.md file has been updated to document these changes.
