Get better acquainted with WordPress project with one of the easiest ways to actively contribute to the Marketing team — join the WordPress social channels! No prior training or special access required.

Chances are good that you already have your own social media accounts, which makes getting started so much simpler.
From your profiles visit the WordPress official profiles listed below.

WordPress social accounts

These are the primary social accounts for the WordPress project and generally reflect the current priorities of the project (eg. the latest release, next large event, latest news, etc.).
It's a great place to quickly find content to share and learn the latest.

You can also learn about current WordPress social media campaigns in the Marketing Handbook.

5 steps to staying active with WordPress social

  1. Once you visit the profile start by subscribing and following the official WordPress accounts.
Bonus: Turn on a notification bell so you're among the first to see an update.
  2. Check regularly for WordPress updates — the team is active on Social channels and posts most days of the week.
  3. Like the posts! Give the posts a thumbs up or a heart — this greatly helps the channels' success with the algorithms.
Bonus: Reply to comment, prompts, or answer a question. Engagement within the comments section helps the posts succeed.
  4. Repost! Repost, retweet or add a post to your story. The more eyeballs on WordPress marketing, the better.
  5. Have fun!

Just adding a note that I added some prompts with steps on how best to take action with social and clarified the title of this card.
