Megadrive core not selectable, reverts to old Genesis core

Is there a way to get Zaparoo to open Genesis roms with the Megadrive core? I'm not seeing it in the systems list

Are you sure it's launching the old Genesis core? Although I've kept the system name in Zaparoo as Genesis, it should be launching the MegaDrive core. You can check by pressing the menu button in the core and seeing what it says on the left edge of the OSD

Ok, you may be right as it displays the TMSS screen however, loaded with Zaparoo, the OSD button mysteriously doesn't work? Tried the Remote app and that can't bring up the OSD either.

I'm also running in composite video and for some reason it's black and white. It also seems to mess up communication with the app since I think have to close and reopen it to get it to load games again.

No other core I've tested seems to do this, just Megadrive.

Just tried doing the same with your Remote app and it loads up fine.

I did notice though, the Remote app does this with the PS1 core (and actually hangs the mister on the sony logo), but Zaparoo works fine with PS1 🤷‍♂️

Saturn core also does this on the Remote app but not Zaparoo
