The log should appear ideally within the default terminal, but unfortunately that is currently not possible outside Debian and its derivatives due to lack of adoption any standard method.

Consequently, I propose that the log at least appear within something comparable to a Konsole KPart: an integrated version of gnome-terminal, for instance, because this is a GNOME project and consequently already utilizes GTK.
