Could part of this be modularized for use on iOS/ iPhone? Maybe as separate or overlapping projects?

I am sure the core "hooks" into the OS API's will be different by the "on the top" functionality could be used across the board?

e.g. Kodi and various Open Source projects that have functionality that's open and others that's subject to Underlying OS/ API.

Interesting idea. I'm not sure how much of the code can be actually shared, given a lot of it is to do with the IME.

I actually had an early version of this for iOS (I think it was just typeable phrases, as opposed to any of the fancy macro stuff). Maybe I'll dig it out and put it on Github...
