How to store and restore state object in python cdk

I am able to store and could not convert to dictionary back to read from state ?

yield AirbyteMessage(
                    type=Type.STATE,
                    state=AirbyteStateMessage(
                        type=AirbyteStateType.STREAM,
                        stream=AirbyteStreamState(
                            stream_descriptor=StreamDescriptor(name=stream_name),

                        )

how to convert state message back to dictionary ?

could you provide sample or point out to method name AirbyteStateBlob
