Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I have searched the existing issues and checked the recent builds/commits

What would your feature do ?

As a user, I want to customize the default display state of the extra networks panel(s) so that I do not have to repeat UI configuration by hand. Specifically, I prefer extra networks be display as subdirs, and would thus like the option to set this as a default.

Current Modes:

  • Card Display
  • Subfolder / Split Display

Proposed workflow

  1. Go to extra networks (checkpoints || lora || TA || ...)
  2. Click on Settings gear
  3. Select default mode from dropdown: one of [SubDir Tree, Card]
  4. Press Save icon
  5. Refresh
  6. Go to extra networks (checkpoints || lora || TA || ...) again
  7. Extra networks are displayed in subdir tree format

Additional information

In addition, a configurable default to control whether the subDir tree is display as a split (tree + cards), or unsplit (tree only). Would be nice. This streamlines workflows for those who do utilize file path sub-dirs as keywords.

Well, I may have spoken too soon. I've tested the handful of permutations of these options on Chrome, Firefox, and a Chromium based browser. Unfortunately after reloading the UI, it still only renders the extranetworks side panel as a bunch of cards. Despite that, the settings remain as I last set them before the reload.

So this may be a bug rather than a feature request. I'll try to find time to investigate this a little deeper and open a ticket if I can pull some logs. May just be an extension breaking something.

It seems like there might have been a misunderstanding regarding the functionality of the tree view component. If you're looking to ensure that the state of the tree view remains open across sessions, this feature has not been implemented.
also there is a splitter between cards and tree view that you can adjust to the far right and hide completely the cards :) if you only need the tree view visible. gear save settings apply only to the options inside, aspect ratio of the cards, card fit size, cards text size, and tint

If you need assistance with how to implement this feature, please let me know, and I can help guide you through it!
