Describe the bug
ALSA hw output for PCM device has playback, but the volume slider cannot be used. It is either greyed out, or simply cannot be adjusted at all. The output device being used here is a usb dac dongle so hw 2,0 identifier in this case.

Steps to reproduce
ALSA output PCM setup for hw.

Expected behavior
For the volume slider to have the ability to mute output in the player and/or to be adjustable volume inside the player.
This works in other players.

Additional information
I have tried all the mixer options.. none of them seem to provide what is needed.. I noticed in the logs for some of them these warnings:

Some of the selections do not generate this warning in the log, but it doesn't change the volume control issue.
