Audio DAC POT seems not properly detected and crashes Android

There are two maybe related issues with the audio DAC board:
First of all connecting the DAC board causes reproducible crashes within 15-20min of audio playback. And there is also no way to select which audio output to use (the DAC POT doesn't show up as individual output), which means that audio is output to the TV over HDMI as well as to the high quality analogue out - which can be an issue depending on the setup (I have to mute the TV which I would like to avoid).
