Here I discuss the influence that utilitarianism has on the discussion of disability rights and identity, and advocate for a politics not based on pleasure or suffering, but rather one in existence and transforming new futures.
In this informal essay I criticize the proliferation of the idea that postmodernism is brainwashing its audience with difficult-to-understand language and an aura of mystique. Instead of defending postmodernism, I demonstrate that the critics complaints are based on completely ahistorical readings of the texts and have little interest in presenting an honest narrative.
