How is the glass effect on the cards achieved?

This theme is fantastic! It gives my dashboard a brand new look.
But I notice that the cards in your screenshots are slightly different. Seems your cards have shadows, and they look like they are floating on the dashboard and not in the same layer as the background. May I ask how is this achieved? Thank you!
