Connecting to processor to send hex commands in Visual studio

Hello, I'm currently trying to write an app on visual studio to control the brightness and also change the display mode on some nova processors. I have managed to get the commands to send to the hercules app but when I try send them over IP to a processor my app throws up an error. I was wondering if there is a command I need to put in before the brightness ones that would allow commands to get through to the processors?
