Just wanted to add that I just ran into this same exact error when trying to install Bitwarden on another computer.

Operating System

macOS

OS Version

13.6.4

OS Details

  • 2018 13-inch MacBook Pro with 4 thunderbolt ports
  • 2.7 GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7

Other details

I first installed Bitwarden from the Mac AppStore and got this error. I deleted the app and installed Bitwarden by downloading the .dmg file from bitwarden.com/download and got the same error.

Same issue on MacBook Pro Intel using Mac OS Monterey 12.7.6 and Bitwarden 2025.1.0

Temporary solved by returning back to version 2024.12.1.

I downloaded de .dmg file from GitHub using universal.dmg file.

Be careful not to make the update to 2025.1.0 after.

I have the same problem;

After upgrading Bitwarden to version 2025.1.0 in the App Store this morning, an error was reported when opened: A JavaScript error occurred in the main process
