Hi! :) I can't seem to find my lonely dot on the Community page when I sign in, either via laptop (Mac) or phone. Not sure if this is a common issue, because several people have managed to connect their dots to the network, but it somehow isn't working for me. Thanks!

hello! Thank you for reaching out.
Yes, we realised earlier today that many people are not seeing their lonely dots... would you give us a hand trying to debug this? If you are in the brainhack's mattermost or in twitter maybe we could find a time when you try to login again and we keep an eye on the server? We use firebase, which is real-time, so if your dot is there but hiding we should be able to catch it!

Actually I zoomed out a whole lot, and found myself on the outskirts of the brainweb universe. So maybe try that.

I am on both twitter and the brainhack mattermost, and I'd be happy to help!

And thanks for the advice, I tried zooming out, and I am now noticing a small white blur (maybe the name labels?) in the upper left corner of the screen, but it rapidly moves out of sight. (Google Chrome, Version 80.0.3987.149 )

Hello! I think I fixed the lonely dot bug 🐛 !
(briefly: i was using github's display name for naming users. But some people have not configured their display name. So now I'm using their github UID)
We have a list of people that created an account but may have not been able to find their dot. We'd like to contact a few one by one to test, and then will just e-mail the rest :D). Will leave the issue open until then.

This seems to have worked for me. I could find my dot (although the repulsion force of the graph seems to have pushed it pretty far outwards, so it was barely visible on the edge of the screen), add my skills and now appear in the network. Thank you!

wuhuu! that's great. Thanks for the feedback :)
Yes, we are also working on the "hiding at the very borders of the screen" bug :) It's coming! @anibalsolon has found a nice fix :D
Great to have you inside the network now!
So @r03ert0 we can email the rest of the lonely dots! 🎉
