Can you please explain me was it any specific reason to why you decided to go with PEER factors in GTEX paper as oppose to surrogate variables, for example using svaseq: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4245966/
I couldn't find any paper saying that one is better than another. So what would be the benefit of using PEER factors as opposed to surrogate variables?
