The signals should be collected at constant sampling rates. The four basic vital signs:
Vital Sign | Unit | Precision | min. Sampling Rate (AD-converter) | min. Sampling Rate (Monitor) | Standard Technology | Notes |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Temperature | °C | 0.1 | 1 x per minute, >= 5 min | |||
arterial oxygen SpO2 | % | 1% | 1 kHz | 2 x second | ||
Heart rate | Hz | 1 Hz | 1 kHz | from beat to beat | siehe JBde | |
Blood pressure (NiBP) | mmHg | 10 % | 2 min | every 2 minutes | siehe JBde | |
ECG | ??? | ??? | ??? | ??? |
- When collecting blood pressure using a blood pressure cuff, the maximum sampling rate is ca. 1 minute as there is danger of blood clot.
- An additional nice-to-have parameter would be capnometry.
