I would prefer to use all nationally designated PAs (meaning all PAs in the database with status=designated) found in WDPA (instead of IUCN categories I-IV or I-VI). Reason for this is that this is how it is done also for example in CBDs Biodiversity Indicator Partnership, Protected Planet reports etc. If we want to link our work to the discussion on CBD targets it is good to use the same numbers.
