Package gthread-2.0 was not found

What steps will reproduce the problem?

do ./configure

What is the expected output? What do you see instead?

*** installed the package in a nonstandard prefix so that

What version of the product are you using? On what operating system?

ubuntu 12.04 precise amd64

Please provide any additional information below.

I've installed liblogthread-dev, liblogthread3, version 2.0 is not found.

Try installing libglib-dev or so. If i recall correctly gthreads are part of 
glib.

same issue xubuntu 14.04 tired of installing packages that dont help. loose the 
dependancy. 8/11/2014

Did you actually install libgtk2.0-dev and libglib2.0-dev? "Loosing" the 
dependency isn't as easy as it seems.
