Checkmarx GitLab: GitLab Merge not supported via CLI

Having issues where I'm getting an error in my pipeline job "GitLab Merge not currently supported from command line". I'm using the template provided from checkmarx. The normal scan job works as well as the dashboard job. Looking at a video from Checkmarx youtube video also shows them using the same template and MR scan working just fine. Are there any additional configurations I'm missing?

Are you overriding any variables?

There is also this solution here, where you can use our template (instead of creating your own) and adding a "before_script" step:

switching to that docker image helped. Now I'm getting an error Error while adding or updating GITLAB repo pull request commit 401 unauthorized. I also notice that it create a project in checkmarx dashboard <project-name>-<branch-name> is that normal?

Can you provide the new log output?

And yes that project name structure is normal.

Marking as answered since my initial error was fixed by choosing checkmarx/cx-flow docker image. I do see another discussion of the 401 error, I'll go ahead and read through that.
