There are a variety of usability issues with Awesomplete in different browsers. The last release was in 2019. Let's find something more actively maintained to use for autocomplete functionality.

One place we use this is on the categories autocomplete field on the item edit page.

Issues:

  • UI is broken in Safari (text doesn't appear as you type
  • Hitting enter to select an item submits the form
  • Issues with focus in Firefox after selecting an item
