How to close multi session tabs?

The multi session feature opens a new tab for each session. These tabs will remain after the session method has completed. Is it possible to close those session tabs and return to the first tab?

Example:

async login(id) {
  session(id, async _ => {
    I.click("#login");
    const cookie = await I.grabCookie("auth");
    await I.closeCurrentTab();
    return cookie;
  });
}

const handle = await I.grabCurrentWindowHandle();
await Promise.all([login(1), login(2)]);
await I.switchToWindow(handle);

With I.closeCurrentTab I run into

invalid session id: invalid session id

When I comment that out and try to switch to the saved current window handle I get

invalid session id: No active session with ID b990ee88c38aae7de468cdc06a252591
