I am encountering an issue where, when I use Codespace with JetBrains Gateway, IntelliJ IDEA opens with the UI language set to Korean. The problem is that I cannot change the language back to English. This issue significantly impacts my productivity as I am not proficient in Korean.
I have explored the settings extensively, but there appears to be no option available to switch the language back to English. This seems to be a bug or an unintended configuration issue.
Steps to Reproduce:
Use JetBrains Gateway to connect to a Codespace.
IntelliJ IDEA opens with the UI language set to Korean.
Attempt to change the language to English via the settings, but no option is available.
Expected Behavior: The UI language should be set to English by default, or there should be an accessible option in the settings to change the language from Korean to English.
Actual Behavior: The UI remains in Korean, with no apparent way to switch to English.
IntelliJ IDEA version: 2024.2
OS: macOS Sonoma 14.6.1
Setup: Codespace with JetBrains Gateway
As per the upstream issue comment, this has been fixed already in 2024.2+ versions. Need to disconnect and reconnect and make sure the remote side of the IDE backend is updated too.
